Hello! My name is Cheryl Daniel, and I am a paramedic living and working in El Paso, Texas. I have worked as a volunteer EMT/Firefighter in Kodiak, Alaska, and for ambulance services in Savannah, Georgia and Las Cruces, New Mexico. Currently my second home is a large urban Emergency Department here in El Paso. For years, friends and family have been saying, "You should write a book about your experiences." Well, my brothers and sisters in EMS, the time has come. But it can't be just my stories. It has to be your stories. We all have those experiences filed away in our memories: the tragedies, heartbreaks and horrors, the hilarious and ridiculous and joyous, the realities of life in the field.
I am inviting my fellow EMS workers from across the nation and around the world to share your stories with me. Write them down. Type them up. Email or snail mail them. All stories will be edited for HIPPA compliance and credited with your name, state and/or country unless you wish to remain anonymous. Stories should be true and from your own personal experience. Original poems and artwork are also encouraged. If your story or artwork is published, you will receive a first edition signed copy. All stories become the property of the author(that's me!). I may want to contact you to clarify details of your story.
Here's what to include: 1. Your original story, poem or artwork 2. Name and level of licensure 3. Mailing address and email address 4. Phone number 5. EMS affiliation
