Welcome to EMS Street Stories! I am so glad you're here and hope you decide to be a part of this important project. This book is more than just a collection of stories. Although I have no doubt it will be wildly entertaining, I have felt for a long time that the public at large doesn't really understand our role in the community and what makes us tick. We know that we are not "ambulance drivers", but a diverse group of intelligent, highly trained and emotional beings just trying to make a difference, one life at a time. It's time to let everyone else know, too. Our dark humor is but a self-preservation mechanism designed to let us move on to the next call with sanity intact. We always take life seriously, but should never take ourselves too seriously. It's what makes us so good at our jobs.
In my career so far, I have experienced countless examples of heroism, selflessness, bravery, determination, compassion and comic relief. I've also witnessed many mistakes, some of them my own. Always, I try to learn something new every day, and try to make at least one person's life a little bit better. As a group, we can now make alot of people's lives better with this book.
This website is kinda new, so I'm still constructing it. I am open to any suggestions of things you'd like to see here, so feel free to contact me with that as well. The photos and fun page is both EMS and non-EMS material (we all need some warm fuzzies). You can send in your own pics to be added.
